Butler University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks to equip students to think for themselves and to act wisely and well in the world. As Butler’s largest and most diverse College made up of 12 departments, four interdisciplinary programs, and an Individualized Major Program, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers students the opportunity to pursue their individual interests and passions through unique courses of study with guidance from outstanding and dedicated faculty.
With a particular emphasis on faculty/student engagement and undergraduate research, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers students the opportunity to be involved in the creation and discovery of new knowledge by working hand-in-hand with our outstanding faculty. In fact, many of our students present research at professional conferences or become co-authors on research published in peer-reviewed journals during their undergraduate career—experiences that are more often seen in graduate programs at other institutions.
Through our unique and extensive partnerships with the Indianapolis and regional community, our students are learning to actively apply their studies to solve real-world problems.

Sciences Expansion and Renovation Challenge
The expansion and renovation of Butler's new $100 M Sciences Complex is underway! In celebration of Day of Giving all gifts to the Sciences Expansion and Renovation fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.
Give in honor of your favorite LAS faculty member and support the LAS Faculty Opportunity Fund
One of the distinguishing features of a Butler education has always been the meaningful and enduring relationships between our faculty and students, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty are dedicated to their students, teaching, and research. But recruiting, developing, and retaining the nation’s best educators and scholars requires an investment. In celebration of Day of Giving, we encourage LAS alumni to make a gift to the LAS Faculty Opportunity fund in honor or memory of a faculty member who defined their Butler experience. Student Emergency Assistance Fund
It has been a hard year and we know our students continue to face challenges. Join LAS faculty and staff in giving to the Emergency Assistance Fund created to provide gift assistance to students with a short-term, unforeseen financial hardship or immediate expense that may impact their academic success at Butler University.
