You can still make an impact on Butler students!
School of Music
School of Music

The Butler University School of Music, established in 1895, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in music with approximately 200 majors. Donating to the Butler University School of Music allows us to continue our wide variety of programming from a diverse body of both undergraduate and graduate students. The Butler School of Music puts on over 100 performances a year including student ensemble concerts, the Duckwall Artist Series, student recitals, collaborations with Butler Ballet, and more. To ensure accessibility for audiences both far and near, all of our concerts are livestreamed. Support from donors like you helps keep these concerts and livestreams free.

Our student ensembles include:

  • Butler Symphony Orchestra
  • Butler University Wind Ensemble
  • Butler University Chorale, Choir, and Chamber Singers
  • Butler Opera Workshop
  • Butler University Jazz Ensemble, Jordan Jazz, and Jazz Combos
  • Butler University Percussion Ensemble
  • JCA Composers Orchestra

If you are in the vicinity of Butler and Lilly Hall, please feel free to stop in for a visit and see what is going on. We hope to see you at upcoming School of Music events, details of which can be found here.

Opportunities for Support

Music Equipment Fund
To meet growing program needs, a gift to the Music Equipment Fund will help with the cost of a permanent Adams 5-octave marimba for the Eidson-Duckwall Recital Hall, eliminating the need to transport equipment between venues. Contributions to this fund support the provision of professional-level equipment for student musicians, enhancing their performances and experiences.

Music Department Fund
The Music Department Fund provides support for students and faculty alike in the School of Music, helping with expenses related to performances, travel, guest clinicians, special equipment, and more.
