Below you will find answers to many common questions about Butler Day of Giving 2024.
What is Butler Day of Giving?
This is the 9th annual Butler Day of Giving. Our goal is for the Butler community to come together to make an impact for current and future Bulldogs.
Can anyone participate on Butler's Day of Giving?
Absolutely. Support from the ENTIRE Butler community is what makes our University a remarkable place! No matter the designation or amount, your donation will be counted toward our Day of Giving goal of 1,500 gifts. If we reach 1,500 gifts on Day of Giving, we unlock $100,000 in general scholarship support!
What is an Ambassador?
Ambassadors are Butler's digital leaders who share messages and create excitement about Day of Giving before and during the day. With an investment of a few minutes, Ambassadors help spread awareness—asking their network to participate in Day of Giving using their preferred forms of communication: email, text, phone, and social media. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, you can register online or email swodecki@butler.edu with questions.
Where should I direct my gift?
You decide! Support the area of campus that is important to YOU. This year we are excited to offer more challenges where gifts will be matched, as well as the opportunity for you to create your own challenge as an Ambassador. Visit the Challenges page to learn more about each of the challenges.
What are challenge and matching gifts?
Challenge and matching gifts help increase support for student scholarships, special initiatives, and areas of need from groups across campus. Participating in challenge and matching opportunities on Day of Giving is a great way to multiply the impact of your support. A complete list of challenges will be on the Challenges page, and active matches and challenges can be viewed on the main landing page and participating group landing page for the specific area.
Don't forget, anyone can create a challenge or matching opportunity!
There are a lot of challenge and matching options; where should I make my gift?
Please direct your gift to the area that is most important to YOU! Our goal for the day is 1,500 gifts to unlock $100,000 in scholarship support. No matter which challenge or matching opportunity you support, your gift will be counted toward our 1,500 gift goal.
Can I make a gift before Day of Giving and have it count?
If you are unable to support Day of Giving on February 28-29, but still want to participate, please contact Samantha Wodecki at swodecki@butler.edu or call 317-940-9469.
Can my donation be anonymous?
Yes, you can make your gift anonymously by simply selecting the box on the giving form.
Are employer matching gifts accepted?
Yes, but due to processing restrictions, matching gifts may not be counted in the overall dollar total for Day of Giving.
Matching gifts from the company or organization you work for double the impact of your gift. See if your employer might match your gift.
Can I make my donation using a digital wallet option like Venmo?
Donations can be made through digital wallet options here.
Do I have to make my gift online?
Please contact Samantha Wodecki at swodecki@butler.edu or call 317-940-9469 to learn about other ways to participate in Day of Giving.
What if I don't see my area of interest in the participating groups?
If you are not able to find the area you would like to support, you can select any Area of Campus, then select "Other" in the Fund Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.
What do I do if I am getting an error message when trying to submit my gift?
There are a few reasons you may be getting an error message see below for ideas to troubleshoot.
- Double-check that your credit card information matches the address you had listed, this is a common reason a gift wouldn't process.
- If you tried to split your gift to give to multiple areas you may have to make two transactions. The site can successfully split one transaction four times (sometimes more) but stick under four to be safe.
Please don't hesitate to contact us at swodecki@butler.edu if you continue to have issues.
