Student Affairs: Helping Students Learn, Grown, and Be the Best Version of Themselves

The Division of Student Affairs supports students from the moment they arrive on campus to the day they graduate. We believe in building a culture of innovation, equity, and operational excellence that fully supports the holistic well-being of our students.

By supporting Student Affairs, you are investing in our commitment to:

  • Create an inclusive campus community that emphasizes restructuring current practices, policies, and learned behaviors to create a safer and more welcoming environment for our community.
  • Believe that student learning is a comprehensive and transformative process that integrates curricular and co-curricular engagement.
  • Promote holistic student safety by empowering members of the Butler community to create and maintain a campus culture that minimizes and intentionally addresses risks of harm to students' mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Develop operational effectiveness through innovative processes, practices, and investments in our human talent, as well as creating and maintaining a culture predicated on holistic well-being, thoughtfulness, and integrity.

Featured Student Affairs Initiatives:

Challenge to Support Student Mental Health
Mental health directly impacts students’ overall well-being and their ability to learn and be successful. Help to support continued education, programs, special initiatives, and direct services which support the ongoing mental health needs of our students at Butler University. 50 gifts made to the Fund to Support Student Mental Health during Day of Giving will unlock a $10,000 gift to increase support of student mental health initiatives.

Family Council Challenge
Join the Butler Family Council in supporting students! This year, Family Council member Glen Danahey and his wife Cathy have pledged to match gifts to the VP of Student Affairs Priority Needs Fund dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500. The Butler Family Council is passionate about impacting and improving the lives of Butler students; gifts to this challenge will go directly into on-campus initiatives that support students.

Featured Student Affairs Programming
One of our programming focuses this year is around sexual assault education and prevention. By making a gift to the Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Fund, you can help support our programming around promoting holistic student safety.
