Alumni and Butler Community Engagement

With more than 50,000 alumni living all over the world, you’re never far away from the Butler community. The Office of Butler Community Engagement provides opportunities for graduates, parents, and friends to connect with one another and the greater Butler community. Join us at a campus or community event, connect with Bulldogs in your area, or share your time and talents with us—we’re always here for you, no matter how you want to support Butler.


Featured Initiatives:

  • The Alumni Association challenges fellow graduates to support their Academic College for the Leaderboard Challenge! Help your college unlock additional challenge dollars. The college with the largest percentage increase in the number of gifts over 2024 will receive bonus funding! Gifts to any area supporting your college counts.
  • The Butler Giving Circle is a network of alumni, parents, and friends supporting Butler University’s Student Access & Success and Community Partnerships. Membership requires an annual gift of at least $500, granting voting rights to decide on community grant recipients. Contributions are distributed as follows: 40% to student scholarships, 40% to community grants, and 20% to priority partners. Shareholders can vote during the Annual Meeting, participate in engagement opportunities, and receive updates on funded projects. Grant finalists are chosen from Butler-affiliated community projects, with voting held in June.

LGBTQ+ Alumni Association Challenge
The LGBTQ+ Alumni Association Steering Committee is challenging alumni, students, families, and friends to come together on Day of Giving! Every gift to the LGBTQ+ Alumni Association Promotion of Diversity Scholarship will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2,500, thanks to the generosity of the Steering Committee. LAS Faculty/Staff Challenge
Dean Howard is challenging all LAS faculty and staff! If 100 LAS faculty and staff make a gift on Day of Giving, in any amount to any area, $2,500 will be unlocked for the LAS Dean's Priority Needs Fund. The LAS Dean’s Priority Needs Fund supports students and faculty in the College by funding initiatives such as student travel to conferences, research software and equipment, and course development or revision.
