On November 3, 2023, Butler University announced the launch of a new two-year college that will increase access to higher education for high-ability, low-wealth populations in the Indianapolis metro area, set to open in fall 2025. Founder’s College at Butler University was created in partnership with the Come To Believe Network (CTB), a national nonprofit formed to provide higher education institutions with an innovative, yet affordable, results-oriented two-year model designed to exist within selective four-year universities. Students enrolled in Founder’s College can obtain their associate’s degree with little to no debt. After graduating, students will have the option of continuing to pursue their bachelor’s degree at Butler or another four-year university or entering the workforce. We are currently seeking philanthropic partners to support Founder’s College, including Founder’s College Operating Support and the Founder’s College Dean’s Priority Needs Fund.
Founder’s College is one of seven academic Colleges within Butler University, and each College has its own unique needs, priorities, and initiatives. Dean’s Priority Needs Funds allow each academic Dean the flexibility to respond quickly to emerging opportunities, implement innovative ideas, and meet the most pressing needs of the College at any given time. Dr. Carolyn Gentle-Genitty joined Butler University as the inaugural Dean of Founder’s College in June 2024. Philanthropic gifts to the Founder’s College Dean’s Priority Needs Fund will provide crucial funds to allow Dr. Gentle-Genitty to respond to needs as they arise. These funds are especially helpful in successfully launching a new College.
