Career and Professional Success
Career and Professional Success

Our mission is simple: to help Butler students and graduates in their professional development. We support all Bulldogs in their search for internships, jobs, grad school admission, service opportunities, and more, providing guidance as they work toward building fulfilling lives. The Office of Career and Professional Success (CaPS) provides this assistance to all students and graduates—from all colleges, majors, and classes—for free, for life. Thank you for supporting our work!

Gifts to CaPS support programs like:

Indy Summer Experience:
Each summer, CaPS coordinates the Indy Summer Experience (ISE) for up to 25 students doing internships or similar professional experiences in the Circle City. Across seven weeks of programming, students explore Indy’s diverse social and cultural offerings with behind-the-scenes tours of our city’s most iconic destinations. They also enjoy dinners with young alumni and local professionals who offer advice and support to help them make the most of their internships and future career goals. ISE is completely FREE for students, and they overwhelmingly love the program, but it costs us quite a bit to pull off. Here are a few ways your gift will help:

  • $25 covers dinner for a student
  • $300 covers tickets for the group to an Indianapolis Indians game
  • $500 covers the total cost for a student to participate in ISE

Chicago and Detroit Treks
Every year, CaPS partners with Advancement and Alumni Engagement to take up to 30 students to Chicago and Detroit over Fall Break. These treks engage our vibrant alumni communities and introduce our students to these thriving cities through networking receptions, employer site visits, and fun cultural activities. Past participants have landed internships and jobs through the connections made on these treks, which take a lot of coordination and resources. Invest in our students by contributing to these impactful experiences. Here are just some of the ways your gifts can help:

  • $25 covers dinner for a student
  • $150 covers the participation fee for a student
  • $250 covers one night’s hotel stay
  • $2,000 covers one-way charter bus travel for students and staff

Unlock these additional fun challenges with your contributions:

  • 25 total gifts to CaPS unlocks the CaPS staff photo booth challenge—our entire staff will attempt to cram into our professional photo booth and take a group photo to celebrate Day of Giving!
  • 50 total gifts to CaPS unleashes the CaPS DoG (Day of Giving) dog. One of our lucky staff will dress up like a dog and pose for photos in our lobby to thank folks for supporting Day of Giving.
