The College of Education envisions a world where school and community advocates serve as inclusive collaborators and catalysts for change, forging paths towards a truly just society. We are dedicated to fostering environments where the unique histories and strengths of individuals and communities are not only recognized but respected, celebrated, and integrated into every aspect of learning.
Through our rigorous undergraduate academic programs in Elementary Education, Middle/Secondary Education, Kinesiology, and Youth and Community Development and our College of Education graduates are prepared to succeed and thrive in classroom, community, or sport/wellness settings. At the graduate level, our Experiential Program to Prepare School Principals (EPPSP), School Counseling (in-person and online), and Mental Health Counseling are specialized graduate programs designed to equip professionals with the necessary skills and expertise. Additionally, our certificates in Applied Educational Neuroscience and Licensed Mental Health Counseling, along with licensure pathway options for educators interested in Teaching English Language Learners and Alternative Special Education–Mild Intervention, offer further avenues for professional growth and specialization.
Our graduates are employed in over 100 schools and in other clinical settings locally, 11 states nationally, and five countries internationally, positively impacting children, schools, and communities worldwide. The American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) has recognized Butler University as a “model of excellence in clinical preparation for teacher education.”
We need your help to continue preparing our students to impact lives. An investment in the College of Education is an investment in the future of every community.
