Theatre for all stages
Butler Theatre students are performers, directors, designers, and builders who create amazing work in the classroom, onstage, and behind the scenes. Our Theatre Majors participate in internships around the country, travel to study abroad opportunities around the world, and learn on-campus from our wonderful faculty and guest artists.
Butler Theatre offers a BA in Theatre and a BFA in Acting plus Emphasis Areas in Music Theatre, Directing, Acting, Set & Lighting Design, Costume Design, and Stage Management. Both degrees offer the kind of comprehensive theatre training that our alumni consistently tell us is so valuable to them in their theatre and film careers—and also in their additional lines of work such as law, education, and business.
Our professionally-oriented mainstage productions span a full range of genres from musical to children’s to edgy to classical to brand new plays—we do it all! Our student-produced work is vibrant and original. Our coursework is rigorous and engaging.

Your gift can help support the following areas:
1. Weapons for our February 2027 production of Romeo & Juliet: We are seeking $3500 to match an internal grant we received to purchase weaponry for our Clowes Memorial Hall production of R & J which will reach hundreds of high school students. Thank you for helping us make those fights top tier!
2. Mainstage production costs. Our designers and technicians make our productions look awesome. We appreciate donations to help with rising costs of fabric, paint, steel, and lumber.
3. Guest artists: We love our influx of talented guest artists, and your donation helps to pay the fine professionals who assist us in growing the artists of tomorrow.
