College of Education

Strong communities are built by strong people; and for nearly a century, the Butler University College of Education (COE) has been preparing the educators, leaders, counselors, coaches, and community advocates who make that possible. Today, the need for a highly skilled and human-centered education workforce has never been greater.

Educators are more than classroom instructors; they are collaborators, innovators, and agents of positive change. Our vision centers on preparing educators who help create a more just society and who ensure every learner has the opportunity to thrive. Your investment makes this vision possible.

Through deeply immersive, practice-based learning in schools, community organizations, and clinics, COE students graduate ready to lead on day one. Join us in shaping the future of Indiana’s communities. Our programs open pathways into high-impact professions, expanding our reach far beyond the classroom and strengthening the fabric of Indiana’s communities and beyond.

How Your Gifts Make a Difference
Responding, Leading, Transforming.

You prepare future educators who put learners first.
Your support fuels immersive, hands-on preparation that equips our students to meet the real-world needs of today’s learners—especially those in under-resourced and rapidly changing environments.

You invest in exceptional faculty who shape exceptional leaders.
Our faculty are practitioner-scholars, mentors, and field experts. They are the reason COE graduates are so well prepared. Your gifts help us recruit, retain, and support these transformative educators.

You strengthen a relationship-centered model that changes lives.
With your partnership, we prepare educators who understand the whole person; professionals who center well-being, equity, and inclusion and who adapt with creativity and compassion.

You help elevate and advocate for the education profession.
Your generosity allows us to lead statewide and national conversations; influence policies and practices; and uplift the educators, students, and communities who depend on a strong, thriving education system.
